The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is the national CBT exam jointly conducted by IISc Bangalore and seven IITs (rotating) for admission to PG (M.Tech / M.E. / M.S.) and PhD programmes at IITs / NITs / IISc, and recruitment by central PSUs. The 2027 cycle is held across two weekends in early February 2027 - 65 questions in 3 hours, MCQ + MSQ + NAT, partial negative marking on MCQs only.
Why gatemocks · 9 reasons · 3 categories
Every high-volume engineering paper plus rotating coverage of XE / XL / IN / ChE. Same paper structure as the real February 2027 IIT/IISc CBT - General Aptitude (15 marks) + Engineering Math + core subject (85 marks).
Every paper is 65 questions in exactly 3 hours, mix of MCQ + MSQ + NAT. +1/+2 marks per correct; −1/3 or −2/3 on wrong MCQs only (no negative on MSQ/NAT) - same scoring as the real GATE.
Question style, topic weight, and difficulty match the actual GATE papers from 2022-2026. Specimen-aligned by the GATE conducting body's published patterns, not generic test-prep content repurposed.
Three difficulty tiers per full paper. Easy for confidence-building early in the year. Standard matches actual GATE difficulty. Hard for stress-testing your prep in the final two months.
Don't just take 3-hour mocks. Drill specific topics in 25 minutes. Network theory weak? Run a 25-min Network-theory-only drill before moving on to the next topic.
Stuck on a NAT question? Get a hint that points to the approach without giving the answer. Learn the path, not just the destination. (Available in Instant Feedback mode.)
Per-mock score → predicted GATE score → mapped against last 3 years' M.Tech closing scores at IIT Bombay / Madras / Delhi / KGP and top NITs (Trichy, Surathkal, Warangal). Know what's in reach for which institute.
Every question has a worked solution, not just an answer key. Wrong answers come with a concept explainer plus the formula or theorem that resolves it. Understand why, not just what.
